Additional Classes

Cowboy Mounted Shooting

The Congress Shoot will be held Sunday, October 28th beginning at 7:30 am. Exhibitors will compete in this timed event in which they guide their horses through a designated pattern while shooting two .45 caliber single-action revolvers (loaded with specially prepared blank ammunition) and attempt to shoot as many balloons as possible, all while wearing old west-style period attire.

On Sunday, October 28th, the shoot will begin at 7:30am in the Celeste Center with a mandatory safety meeting. Stages 1&3 will be in Celeste Centers. Stages 2 & 4 will be in the Buckeye Pavilion with Stage 2 starting at approximately 8:30am. There will be a cash payback, 24 class buckles as well as two 3D jackpots with 100% payback.

Entry fees:
CMSA Adult - $150, plus $25 office/grounds fee
CMSA Senior - $150, plus $25 office/grounds fee
AQHA - $150 CMSA Wrangler - $50
Jackpot - $20/each stage

*Please note that all horses must have a stall. Stalls are $50 per night purchased from OQHA. CMSA dress code will be required. Online registration required and due by October 1st. Equestrians with Disabilities Class Rules

Equestrians with Disabilities classes are open to people with physical or mental disabilities who love to compete on American Quarter Horses. In order to participate an exhibitor must have a medically diagnosed condition that causes a permanent impairment that can be measured objectively. Equestrians with Disabilities Classes will follow AQHA/NSBA Guidelines and rules for eligibility for showing. 

Heroes on Horses Class Rules

The Congress offers a special event “Heroes On Horses” to honor our service men and women and the horses helping them heal. Riders in PATH Intl. Equine Services for Heroes programs are invited to participate in the All American Quarter Horse Congress “Heroes on Horses” competition.

Exhibitors must be disabled veterans or active duty “wounded warriors” who are participating in PATH Intl. Equine Services for Heroes programs or who have a Department of Veteran Affairs disability rating. The PATH facility will be responsible for verifying the eligibility of riders participating in Equine Services for Heroes programs. Horses do not need to be registered or owned by the rider or facility.

Para Reining Class Rules

Small Fry Class Rules

A. Entries are limited to exhibitors nine years of age and younger as of
January 1st.
B. Exhibitors must be AQHA members.
C. Horses must meet AQHA ownership requirements.
D. Small Fry exhibitors may not cross enter into any other classes outside of
the Small Fry Division, with the exception of Halter.
E. Gaits in the arena are limited to the walk and jog/trot.
F. Exhibitors are required to have appropriate attire and tack.

Working Hunter Warm-Up Rules

Entry: $40 each
0036 - 3’ Open Working Hunter Warm-Up
0037 - 3’ Non Pro Working Hunter Warm-Up
0038 - 2’6” Open Working Hunter Warm-Up
0039 - 2’6” Non Pro Working Hunter Warm-Up

A. Working Hunter Warm-Up classes will be held in the Celeste Center on Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th.
B. Exhibitors must enter the Warm-Up class as a regular Congress class.
C. Entries will work in draw order.
D. One Open Warm-Up entry per horse will be permitted and the horse must be entered in an Open over fence class.
E. One Non Pro Warm-Up entry per horse will be permitted and the horse must be entered in a Non-Pro Over Fence class.
F. Warm-Up classes will not be placed and will offer no awards.
G. Open over fence schooling will be available in the Buckeye Arena.
H. No schooling will be available in the Celeste Center, other than the Warm-Up classes.
