Aaron Moses and Rasscal Flatts win 2 YO Open Western Pleasure Super Sale Stakes

By Courtney Moses

Aaron Moses rode Rasscal Flatts to win the Congress Sale Stakes 2 Year Old Open Western Pleasure Class last night at the All American Quarter Horse Congress winning an excess of $11,000.00.

Rasscal Flatts is a 2016 Stallion sired by VS Flatline and out of the talented show mare, Certainly Inspired. Better know as “Rusty,” this young stallion was purchased at the 2017 Congress Super Sale by Jeff Temple and Dr. Gale Mason, “Rusty’s” current owners. “Rusty” was bred, raised and consigned to the 2017 Super Sale by Steve and Susan Thompson. (I believe this horse was the high seller last year but that needs to be confirmed)

“At the Congress last year I spoke with Jeff about taking the horse in training for him and they sent him to us around March of last year,” says Aaron. “Rusty” is a very attractive and great minded individual and I think that has and will continue to play a huge part of his success in the show pen. He is super easy to be around; you would never know he is a stallion.

We asked Aaron what made this win special for him and he told us that is was somewhat of a full circle for him…  The second year Aaron attended the All American Quarter Horse Congress, Aaron came to the show with Jeff Temple, “Rusty’s” current owner, to help him work here at the Congress. This same year was the year that Aaron met Gil Galyean and later went to Oklahoma to work for him, where his horse training career began.

The 2018 Congress Sales Stakes class was an exceptional class of over twenty horses competing.

“I think the Congress Sale Sakes is an exceptional addition to the All American Quarter Horse Congress, as it is a great tool to promote our industry. It provides buyers with a great opporutnity of a return on their investment from their purchase at the Congress Super Sale. It is a prestigious class that people look forward to watching and/or participating in," said Moses.
