2023 NRHA Open Reining Futurity Finals

The 2023 Congress NRHA Open Reining Level 3 and Level 4 Futurity Finals was an electrifying display of execptional talent from some of the best horses and riders in the country.

With a total payout of over $275,000, due to the generosity of the Friends of the Congress Reining, the stakes were high in the Celeste Center on Saturday evening. After 36 impressive runs showcasing amazing up-and-coming horses, Brian Bell entered the pen aboard Crystalized Whizkey for owner Wallace Wood. The crowd was deafening as Bell slid his way to an outstanding 224.5 point score to take the lead as the night drew to a close. The run earned Bell the Congress Champion title in the Level 4 and a payout of $32,293.89.

Tying for Reserve Champion were Shawn Flarida on Ms Sparkling Vintage for owners Arcese Quarter Horses and Kevin Truax of Weatherford, Texas and Cade McCutcheon on All Nite Partier, owned by Sotol Investments LLC of Comfort, Texas. Each rider received a payout of $17,200.

Taking home the Congress Champion title in the Level 3 was Brandon Brant and Spook The Gunman, owned by Cynthia Arlene Thiel of Dublin, Ohio. The winners received a check for $16,133.17. Winning Reserve Champion and a payout of $8,592.66 was Kaci Jo O'Rourke, riding Gottabeattheboys for Courtney R. Morgan of Reddick, Fla. Brandon Brant also took home third place on Twentyfourcaratmagic, owned by Cathy C. Brant of Belle Center, Ohio.
