Behind the Scenes Champion: Second Half Winner

Some people who make the biggest impact are the least highlighted. They are the people who make the people around them successful just by being present.

The Congress and corporate partner Rafter P Construction are proud to recognize these individuals through the new Behind the Scenes Champion Award!

The 2026 Second Half winner was Deb Barrett.

Deb was nominated by her daughter, Kaitlyn Barrett, who describes her as the "GOAT" of grandmothers! Kaitlyn and her partner, professional horseman Taft Dickerson, rely on the help of Deb while away at horse shows to care for their toddler son, and emphasize the sacrifices that Deb makes to be there to support them.

Deb describes her desire to help the new parents, as her way of allowing her daughter to be able to pursue her riding dreams while also being a mom.
