Congress Super Sale Welcomes New Manager

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association (OQHA) is excited to welcome Shane Watson, of Equine Auction Exchange, as the new manager of the Congress Super Sale!

The Congress Super Sale is where champions change hands, with a history as rich as the horse show itself. The sale has been a staple of the Congress going back the beginning in 1967, and part of that legacy is the Congress Super Sale Stakes classes. These annual classes are open to 2 year olds sold as yearlings in the prior year's sale, and include 2 Year Old Open Western Pleasure, 2 Year Old Non Pro Western Pleasure, and 2 Year Old Open Hunter Under Saddle. Equine Auction Exchange was founded in 2012 by Ohio licensed auctioneer Shane Watson. Offering the brokering, buying and selling services for high-end horse show equipment, Equine Auction Exchange built a successful operation of folks that were looking to buy and sell horse related equipment. With contacts throughout the United States and other countries, Equine Auction Exchange became a great source where “Buyers and Sellers Meet”. Shane has been a member of OQHA and a longtime exhibitor and owner of Quarter Horses.

The 2026 Super Sale will be held Saturday, October 17 in the Lausche Sale Arena, and will feature 3 sessions: Yearlings, Ranch & Performance, and the Super Session. Sale horse demonstrations will be held Friday, October 16 at 6:00pm (Ranch & Performance consignments) and Saturday, October 17 at 10:00am (Yearling and Super Session consignments), with the auction beginning at 2:00pm.
